4 twins from Gaza at the time of Corona

Palestine Economy Portal.

Married at the age of 16, and after a long wait for 8 years, God blessed the mother of 4 twins (Mahmoud, Wessam, Fares and Fatima) after resorting to IVF technology, and because the blockade affected everything in Gaza except the desire to have children, the mother obtained coverage from the Ministry of Health For a caesarean delivery and then medical care of foetuses in a hospital in Nablus due to the lack of health services for her condition in the sector, and in Nablus she stayed 4 months for medical supervision before birth, and care for twins in the incubator after.

Due to the Corona and the announcement of the dissolution of the agreements between the Authority and the Occupation, the four twins were dispersed, and Faris and Fatima were forcibly separated from their mother and their two brothers, Mahmoud and Wissam, for several weeks until they were all reunited today.

Initially, the Israeli Occupation prevented the husband from accompanying his wife from Gaza to Nablus, and he signed the option for her mother to accompany her, after obtaining the necessary permits, given the presence of the so-called civil coordination between the Palestinian Authority and Israel at the time.

4 weeks ago, the mother had to leave Nablus with two twins (Mahmoud and Wissam) because they were in good health and had to be discharged from the hospital incubator, and (Faris and Fatima) stayed in the hospital alone to complete medical care. The grandmother accompanying her daughter on a childbearing journey is young, 41 years old, but suffers from cancer, which she has eaten healthily.

The tired grandmother, her naughty daughter and the baby twin collided on the return journey by preventing them from crossing the Qalandiya checkpoint, on the pretext of coordination for their transit into Gaza. Hours of harsh waiting and finally the response came “No coordination”

Palestinians who hold Israeli citizenship came to the rescue and made the necessary contacts before they arrived at the checkpoint, after their arrival, and while waiting, but the occupation did not respond and the sun went down that day, so these volunteers were forced to book a hotel room in Ramallah to secure their stay for the next day, until they were allowed To reach Gaza.

In Gaza, the mother, the grandmother and the twins entered a quarantine for 14 days, according to the protocol followed with travelers to prevent the spread of corona in the Strip. They then went home and there the father met two of his children for the first time, after many weeks of their birth.

Fares and Fatima stayed, with the care of God and medical staff, in Nablus, away from their mother for a whole month. They became in good health, allowing them to leave the hospital incubator. How can they get to Gaza?

The mother could not come to Nablus and keep two babies (Mahmoud and Wessam) in Gaza, because this trip would need several weeks, coordination to leave and coordination to return and the quarantine period and so on, the only option was that the twins (Fares and Fatima) would leave from Nablus alone - As they appear in the attached photo, they are inside an ambulance - it took many hours of communication, 3 ambulances, one from Nablus to Qalandiya, a large Jerusalemite from Qalandiya to Beit Hanoun, and a third ambulance from Beit Hanoun to Gaza, and finally the reunification.

An army of volunteers worked silently, including a Jerusalemite girl who breastfed the twins and changed their diapers after they arrived in Qalandia and escorted them in the ambulance to Beit Hanoun.

The country divided by the occupation was united in the reunification of the twins with their parents, with the effort of volunteers from the West Bank, Jerusalem, Gaza and the interior .. More importantly, they all worked silently.
