Palestinian government is preparing for the coming months to face the pandemic!

Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh indicated during his speech at the opening of the cabinet session today, Monday, that the government is preparing for the coming months of the pandemic, while focusing its efforts to fight the virus. The PM pointed that the infection rates of the virus are stable but still high.

Shtayyeh wished wellness to the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the PLO, Saeb Erekat, and the Head of the Organization's Diplomatic and Public Policy Department, Hanan Ashrawi, after they were tested positive for the virus.

Shtayyeh called on the youth to restore the spirit of volunteering and help families harvest their olives, especially in the conflict zones, which are located near the settlements, and to salute the steadfast farmers on their land in light of the continued attacks by settlers.

On the occasion of World Mail Day, Shtayyeh valued the efforts of the Palestinian Post workers in the field for the breakdown of barriers and borders within Palestine, and between it and the various countries of the world.

The Prime Minister called for the immediate release of the prisoner on hunger strike for the 78th consecutive day, Maher Al-Akhras, holding the occupation fully responsible for his health.

Shtayyeh also called on the international community to put pressure on the occupying power to stop its illegal punitive measure represented in administrative detention under which about 350 prisoners are languishing, among them the Al-Mute prisoner.

He condemned the continuation of the occupation for its crimes against our people, and demanded protection for it, the latest of which was yesterday, when dozens of citizens were injured after the occupation's storming of the city of Al-Bireh, Al-Amari camp, Kafr Qaddum, the village of Tal, and other areas in the West Bank.

In its session today, the Council of Ministers discussed the initiative to protect high-value agricultural lands, amend the intellectual property system, and the licensing system for electric freight vehicles, in addition to a system that delineates the boundaries of electoral areas and population centers.
